a wintery walk (aka a case of the mondays)

I was all geared up in my head to write a very nice post today. That is until Chris left at approximately 8:25. I was still clamoring to get myself dressed and ready for the day along with four little ones, a lunch packed, a dog begging for my attention, full sink, full dishwasher about ten loads of laundry creepin up into my grill.

you get the point.

We got big brother off to school and made it home before the littlest brother needed his nap and I was able to hydrate with some more caffeine. The blog post was getting sort of pushed pretty far down the list though, maybe down to like thursdayish...

And blog post aside I was determined to take at least a one mile walk today with my three youngest. Determined and willing no matter what. And then I thought:

How perfect I can post about our wintry walk!

Do you guys ever do that too? You know work up a whole fantastically perfect, dreamlike blog post in your head and envision all the great leaf shots and pretty baby photos with cute homemade hats on...ahem

fat chance...

I offered him his bike, scooter, a snack, the moon. But yeah this pretty much sums up how I really felt about today too. It is Monday though and I am sure some of you can relate. Trust me if you didn't get your perfectly polished blog post done OR the piles of laundry folded, neither did I. And that means that we can be friends cause friends need to be real with each other.

Happy Monday All!

  2. I not only did NOT fit in a walk OR a blog post, I barely did the dishes or laundry piles today. I decided to call in a personal day with the boss ( which just happens to be ME since I am a SAHM ) and she most gratefully obliged. ;) Sometimes we all need a not-so-great day to appreciate all the awesome ones that will surely be.

  9. I so appreciate your being real about days like this. We all have them! Very rarely do people blog about them and it becomes easy to think we must be the only ones... Sometimes no matter how hard we try to put on a smiley face, the day just sucks. Whether it's me with a bad attitude or one of the kids, the day cannot be saved! Thank goodness that God's mercies are new each morning and we can start again!! :)

  10. I've definitely had those sort of Mondays and those sorts of visions about blog posts. In fact, yesterday was definitely one of those Mondays for me too. Hoping that our Tuesdays are a bit nicer. :-)

  15. I feel like sometimes taking pics for blogs slows down my real life. Like I am so focused on getting a great picture that I miss the actual experience. Argh.
