thursday through my lens :: Abbey's maternity photos

My little sister, Abbey just had her first baby a few days ago (she posted cute pictures on the Ten on Ten linky if you want to see :)). She and her husband have been living in New Zealand for the past few years and it's just killing me that we are so far away, I am dying to kiss my adorable niece!

It reminded that I had never shared any of the maternity photos I took of her this past fall when we were all together as a family in Palm Springs. We visited Joshua Tree and she was looking so adorable in her little sun dress so she let me take a bunch of pictures of her first baby belly against the desert backdrop. I am definitely looking forward to getting my camera out to capture her new family in a few months when they finally move home to the states (hooray!)…Congratulations Abbey, little Caitlyn is just as adorable as you!

maternity shoot with Emily Peck

I have wanted to meet the darling Emily Peck for quite some time now after reading her blog for a few years. I finally got the chance along with her beautiful family and had the honor of capturing a bit of what life looks like for them just weeks before they welcome baby number two! We met at the gorgeous Arboretum and although the rain and cold joined us we still managed some fun and laughter something these three do so beautifully together.

Thank you Peck family I had an amazing time meeting you and love when online friends become real life friends too - congratulations can't wait to meet your new addition! xoxo

Henry John Maxwell (and all his ladies)

I had such fun today photographing the dashing Mr. Henry, prince among many beautiful ladies and the deepest blessing to this family of six.

His Mom was hoping for a pretty studio style series and so she set up the perfect little backdrop in her living room. We took turns wrangling all eight of our kids combined and managed to squeak out a few keepers...but man that place was kind of wreck when we left.

I mentioned to her that children were like the exact opposite of Mary Poppins who walks into a room and waves her arms to make the place spit spot instead it seems they enter and a gigantic bomb goes off without much more than a flip of the wrist...ah well we still had a great time and are so grateful for these dear friends and the life we have shared together. Blessed indeed - thanks for the wonderful afternoon Myrons we love you guys!

Check out Kim's maternity set here she's kind of a stunner!

the Olson Family

I had so much fun with this beautiful family on our mini shoot session last week! The cutest kids ever cracking me up the entire time, I was in heaven getting to know them a bit during our short visit at Lincoln Park in West Seattle. At one point Toni and I were talking about life with little ones super close in age and I just felt like I wished we could go grab a cup of coffee and hang out all afternoon...a fast friend in this gorgeous mother I was super blessed by our time together and look forward to seeing them again!

PS. I learned a few things on the shoot...first of all I have a ridiculous baby voice when I am in the middle of photographing little ones. I swear I NEVER use a baby voice any other time - ha! And um, bringing backup memory cards is kind of important...whoops, luckily they were the sweetest with me and I don't believe I will ever do that again! :)

PPS. Nissa - you are the winner of the Linkel Designs Giveaway, congratulations!!
