Back to School Dinner 2013

Our Back to School dinner was pretty toned down this year in comparison to years past, it's been a crazy month and I wasn't sure I could even pull it off but Simon reminded me about it and that he was expecting book worms again this time (gummy worms :)) so we got pizza and had a little evening together to celebrate the start of a new season.

I pulled out some vintage thermoses to use as vases and glasses that were my grandmothers and Chris's grandfathers too. I also stamped a bunting my step Mom had lying around her craft room with an apple and some paint. The grandparents each brought a yummy salad to add to the pizza and we sang happy birthday to Nana with an ice cream cake!

Each of the kids were given new books and backpacks and Josie got a new tutu and leotard for her dance class since she isn't doing preschool just yet. It was a really fun night all around and I am so glad we went for it the weather was beautiful and it felt like the official start of fall..I love these little traditions so much what a blessing it is to be a Mom!

  1. toned down? that centerpiece and bunting are adorable...maybe i'll kick it into high gear for elementary school...for now "end of summer vacation" ice cream at walter's and old spaghetti factory "first day lunch" will have to do ;) you always make things so special Rebekah...toned down for you is still magical ;)

  2. It doesn't take much to bless our little ones does it? I often think I didn't do a good job with our little traditions, but my girls always are thrilled with what I was able to accomplish. You are such a good momma. Blessings to you and your new school year!
