This month at the end of the day after uploading my photos for Ten on Ten I was feeling sort of ho-hum about what I captured. The day didn't feel as cohesive as I had hoped...I don't know maybe I have ten on ten fatigue :) ha!
And then I thought about these past (almost six years) of taking photos of my day on the tenth and how special the 67 collections are to me and to my family. How when I started this monthly ritual that big guy in picture number nine was only two months old and my dear grandmother had passed away and we lived in a little shoebox all of 770 square feet with two dogs and two babies and a whole lotta crazy love in the middle of the crazy nights and days that blurred together and made me think I would never survive.
I love this ritual and I love those of you who have stuck alongside me finding your own crazy beauty too. Those who are new to the project I love you for bringing fresh vision and wordless voice...I loved looking at Mel's photos because I remember how much tinier her girls were when she joined us and now her little boy is almost one now! I loved Rachel's set noting her third anniversary and a growing baby boy, of course my dear friend Stacy and the beauty and skill she has honed over these years oh how I have loved watching it unfold! The breathtaking landscape that Kaylee found and the newness and light her eye has brought into this community of beauty seekers. I am continually overwhelmed when I step back and see things through my lens and having a space to join others is a gift I can never ever describe in words. Thank you all for joining me this month - I am enjoying scrolling through your days and of course look forward to seeing you again in August! xoxo
Wow, 67 is amazing. I can understand the ten on ten fatigue- I think I've done about 24, some months are better or easier than others but I agree that it's lovely to have the memories- see you next time :)

ReplyDeleteIt's funny, I almost didn't participate this month because I didn't feel like my photos would be any different from last month's set. But then I remembered that this project is all about the everyday and finding the beauty in the everyday. So thank you for this project (67 sets? That's awesome!) and thank you for reminding me that there is beauty in the everyday. Great set, too! I love the rich, creamy lighting and that reflection photo (photo number eight). I've always wanted to take a photo like that! :)
ReplyDeleteThese are fabulous! I think it is easy to get caught up in overthinking things, but trust me - I love getting a perfect snapshot in to the day. The reflection shot is my favourite :)

But I love them all--I love how this set will cause you to remember the details of your day and this particular season you're in. Beautiful work, girl!
ReplyDeleteYou know... I really REALLY like capturing these magical moments on the tenth. And sometimes I don't feel like I'm getting the shot I want, but that isn't the point for me. I think your captures are magnificent! I'm so glad you begun your ten on ten journey.
