I got nothin

adorable pot holder designed by my oldest nephew Evan - I love it!
Today I have officially been resigned to bed. After a full week of horrible sore throats and aches I decided anyway to power through at Church yesterday morning and help my hubby lead the worship. If you were there you might have noticed me put my mic down by my side during the final song of the second service because - yipes I sort of lost control of my voice and it was makin some weird sounds. Needless to say yesterday afternoon I crawled into bed for a nap and woke up with a really sweet smoky voice. This morning when I woke up - There was and still is nothin comin out. Laryngitis. I played a few board games with my boys this morning and ended up doing a bit of charades too - Simon is quite concerned that I won't get my voice back. Adorable apparently he doesn't see the beauty in Mom not being able to talk. Chris took them out on some errands and adventures and I am stuck in bed resting my pipes because tomorrow I have a coffee date planned with someone I so admire and I do not want to miss it. I need tips on getting my voice back - if I have to I will bring a pad of paper and a pen in the morning.

All that to say I haven't made much for Monday. I am eyeing this recipe for dinner tonight and I got an amazing shipment of vintage jewelry bits for a shop update coming soon so I am excited to get started on that. But for today I thought I would leave you with an old project I did for Design*Sponge a couple of years back since I have some new readers and all. I made this message board out of an old window and fabric you can read the whole post HERE! And speaking of D*S did anyone notice a certain white couch on there last Thursday - I almost jumped out of my skin!

I hope you all have a wonderful Monday - looking forward to a great week ahead and ten on ten is just around the corner too which always makes me smile! xo

oh, and I know it's not much for a tip, most know it already, but lemon and honey in hot water is the best feeling ever on a sore and hurting throat :) throat coat tea is pretty great too!! Hope you feel better friend!!

  9. Hi, I actually made that recipe last night! It was yummy. Stan is my very picky eater so I heated up the ingredients and then put it in the blender for a minute...made it a little less messy and he thought it was just beans! -kami (mark's sister)
