blogging break brought to you by:

ha ha! Not really but raise of hands who else is totally hooked? Thanks to my Mom in law and like every single person I know on the interwebs I finally caved in to see what all the fuss was about. I am only four episodes in but am officially engrossed in season one of Downton Abbey...love it!

This week has been exhausting - um duh I keep forgetting I am nearing the end of my fourth pregnancy. We had one night this week where Chris and I were up ALL.NIGHT with a four year old who had not only his first case of the croup (so weird) but also the stomach flu? It was brutal and when he finally fell asleep at five in the morning and the bathroom was finished being disinfected we passed out until six thirty when all three of my kids got up for the day, ugh.

Mild terror has been replaced by extreme fear and gnashing of teeth about how we will manage another baby in less than two short months. I know the Lord will sustain us but lets just say God and I had words that night about how I really feel about this whole workload when I am tired.

In other news I am gearing up for my first solo Mommy trip in years this weekend to visit the insanely talented and gorgeous Stacy Bostrom. Our time will for sure include lots of wonderful deep conversation, coffee and yummy treats, her adorable little boy and his scooter, a maternity photo shoot (squeal), me trying to glean as much photography knowledge as I possible can...little known fact this woman taught herself how to handle a camera within the past few years, no school, no training at all she is incredible I really can't wait!

Hoping to blog while I am away but either way you know I will be back soon...happy Friday everyone!

  1. Sooo obsessed with Downton Abbey. And it sounds like your week has earned you a DA marathon ; ) You can do it! Two of my favorite families have four kids each, and they're loving every minute.

  5. Yes! Downton!! We finished the whole first season really quickly. We couldn't stop. Now we are waiting for season 2 on Netflix discs.
I hope your weekend away is renewing for you! It is tiring being pregnant with numero 4. And it is tiring having 4 littles. I won't pretend I love every minute of it, either. But! I love every single one of those 4 & wouldn't trade being their mom for anything else.

  9. I'm so glad you're enjoying it, I had a feeling you would ;) So glad you're getting a little getaway this weekend, here's hoping it is prayerful, restful, and you come back ready for the season ahead.

  10. Of course, you're a bit worn out! I do hope your weekend away will be most refreshing and trust the Lord will continue to strengthen your heart for the sweet days ahead...so sorry about the sickness, that is the worst. My husband insists we save Downtown Abbey for when we move this summer - I thinks he knows I'll need a good show to cheer me up. :)

  11. Ummm yup! Totally hooked. In fact, watching an epsiode of Downton Abbey may or may not have been part of our date night in last night..... Also, I was actually thankful that I had 5 loads of laundry to fold earlier in the week because it meant I would be in one place for approximately the length of an episode. :)

  12. Wow, I admire you and chris for your strength and patience so much! I'm also very jealous that Stacy is taking your maternity shots? I can't believe she taught herself to photograph. Praying for you as you round out this pregnancy!

  14. i just found your blog..and was reading your about me page.. your family is sooo sooo sweet... i have 3 kids also and have been comtemplating (without hubbys knowledge) of having a 4th.. (my kids are similar in age. i have an 8,6 and 3 year old) my thoughts on this is that its already a load of work, loud and we are already outnumbered...why not add one more to the mix? and when we get older, we will be so thankful we did ! looking forward to the maternity shots.. with me they were always horrible =) thanks my obsession with food...
