Happy tenth of the month you guys I am so honored that you are here - hoping you might join me in searching for some beauty in the simple unsuspecting moments today! This little project has meant so much over the past six years, I just love the ritual of spending a day each month in this way. There are so many fabulous photo projects around the web now though so weather or not you choose to specifically do Ten on Ten or another similar one feel free to link up whatever beauty you have found recently behind the lens. It inspires me, all of it and I can't wait to see!

creatively dreaming

I woke up dreaming of wire today - is that weird? I actually think about wire all the time if i am honest, it's my most favorite medium to play with and today I was feeling a little bit of creativity bubbling up inside. My older boys both had school and my sweet Mom in law offered to watch the younger two (big kiss for you Paula!!) so I had a super long list of things to accomplished including grocery shopping, the post office, and some serious cleaning to do. But you want to know what I did instead…after grabbing a good workout I poured another cup of coffee, took a long hot bath, put on some makeup, did my hair and then sat down in my jewelry "nook" and played around with some wire and gemstones.

I have been itching to make a pendant with four arrows (one for each of my babies) and although this one didn't turn out exactly how I wanted it to, it just didn't feel right in my hand, I still had so much fun sitting in the stillness focusing and listening to nothing but the sounds of the birds outside and the whirl of our washing machine (the nook is in the laundry room :)) and for about three hours I was lost in a slice of heaven. The errands and shopping will have to be done soon but for today I am glad I took a little bit of time for myself to explore the creativity in me.

This weekend is packed to the brim with a basketball game for my oldest, a birthday party and a day trip to the islands for a little speaking to do for Chris. I am looking forward to it and daylight savings too that will mean much more light in the evenings come next week!!

mid-winter break

It's been a bit of bummer of a mid-winter break over here. Lots of sickies in the house so we have been getting the wiggles out during the breaks in the rain to splash in puddles, Simon is working on breaking his pogo stick record and of course Zeb takes every chance he can get to wear his big brothers old boots that are way to big for him! He actually prefers to wear Josie's pink boots but she isn't to keen on letting him so he sneaks it in :)…we are definitely dreaming of spring around here too and for the most part really thankful for all the goodness around us even when it's a long week. Looking forward to the weekend and getting back into our routine though. Hope you have a blessed one friends!! xo

happy heart day

Daddy made us raspberry waffles and bacon for breakfast after a wake up from my Simon who gave me a huge hug and kiss and then whispered something about how the table was decorated for valentines day and it looked "awesome"…we surprised the kids with the soundtrack from Frozen because they have been listening to it constantly on YouTube and it was a huge hit! After the older boys headed to school Josie and I spent a good thirty minutes singing the songs at the top of our lungs and dancing around the house and although I don't think she saw the tears of joy streaming down my face it was such a fun memory with my little girl enjoying the magic of the Disney princesses together. Tonight we plan to eat heart shaped pizza and chocolate cupcakes and cupids kiss mocktails too. Hope you are having a wonderful valentines day friends! xoxo
