Josie and Gigi's first dance class

When I became a mom to a little girl of course one of the first things that crossed my mind was putting her into her first dance class. I have waited for this day, dreamed of this day - so when Kim texted me and asked if Josie would like to join her bff Gigi this summer in a little creative movement class I am sure you can imagine just how lighting fast I was to sign her up!

Kim and Gigi also gifted Josie with a beautiful recital costume worn by one of Gigi's big sisters - it was such a special morning for my girl and my heart was a big heaping puddle the entire time.

The girls were too cute and excited - I grabbed this series of them after class. Watching them whisper and giggle together was so precious. Both of these girls are number three in a family with four siblings and they both have little brothers...they were also due on the same day so they are destined to be friends! I think I need to start a regular Josie and Gigi feature because they are just so fun together! Thank you Gigi for inviting us we are looking forward to years of dance classes and recitals!!

Ten on Ten :: July 2013 (aka my 67th set in a row)

This month at the end of the day after uploading my photos for Ten on Ten I was feeling sort of ho-hum about what I captured. The day didn't feel as cohesive as I had hoped...I don't know maybe I have ten on ten fatigue :) ha!

And then I thought about these past (almost six years) of taking photos of my day on the tenth and how special the 67 collections are to me and to my family. How when I started this monthly ritual that big guy in picture number nine was only two months old and my dear grandmother had passed away and we lived in a little shoebox all of 770 square feet with two dogs and two babies and a whole lotta crazy love in the middle of the crazy nights and days that blurred together and made me think I would never survive.

I love this ritual and I love those of you who have stuck alongside me finding your own crazy beauty too. Those who are new to the project I love you for bringing fresh vision and wordless voice...I loved looking at Mel's photos because I remember how much tinier her girls were when she joined us and now her little boy is almost one now! I loved Rachel's set noting her third anniversary and a growing baby boy, of course my dear friend Stacy and the beauty and skill she has honed over these years oh how I have loved watching it unfold! The breathtaking landscape that Kaylee found and the newness and light her eye has brought into this community of beauty seekers. I am continually overwhelmed when I step back and see things through my lens and having a space to join others is a gift I can never ever describe in words. Thank you all for joining me this month - I am enjoying scrolling through your days and of course look forward to seeing you again in August! xoxo

a few from our fourth

I didn't have my camera out all day so these are just a smattering of moments from our time with family and friends but there was lots of laughter and food and fireworks and fun to make up a spectacular Fourth of July! I love when I get a free moment to look at and work on photos because it just makes it easy to feel so blessed even when life is full to the brim. We have had a wonderfully busy start to our summer - hoping to pop in here more often with much to share!! Hope you had a wonderful holiday weekend if you're here in the states...and happy Monday to you too!
